Ice Cream recall! Turkey Hill and other ice cream brands are being recalled
Alert, fellow foodies! There’s an ice cream recall happening and it involves some of the most popular (and favorite) brands, including Turkey Hill and Baskin-Robbins. We share all the details we know about it, below.
There’s no better summer treat than ice cream. In fact, here at Guilty Eats, we enjoy ice cream year round! Many brands offer great seasonal flavors, so it’s easy to enjoy the frozen treat any month of the year. However, it’s particularly more popular in the hot months during the summer season, so you can imagine the surprise and disappointment to learn that there’s a recall.
Which ice cream brands are on recall?
Mashed broke the news! For starters, you may have nothing to worry about as this recall is mostly for our Canadian friends, Canada Recalls reports. They cite that the issue is “extraneous material,” and have order companies not to sell, serve, or distribute any of the affected products. This is the case for any company that typically sells the ice cream, such as hotels, restaurants, and stores.
The flavors being recalled are: Baskin Robbins: Mint Chocolate Chip, Vanilla, Pralines ‘N Cream, Chocolate Mousse Royale, and others. Vanilla Ice Milk from Best Buy, and several flavors from President’s Choice.
In the US, only the 48-ounce containers of Turkey Hill’s chocolate marshmallow premium ice cream is supposedly affected. And the reason is the undeclared presence of peanuts, yikes! This could be a huge problem. Mashed shares that the chocolate marshmallow “may have mistakenly” been filled with chocolate peanut butter, instead. Customers who purchased this item are being asked to return it for a refund.
If anything changes or we get an update on when it is safe to purchase these ice cream products again, we’ll update this post! Which Baskin Robbins or Turkey Hill flavor is your favorite?
